SPARTANS WILL. The medical labora- tory is always changing. Are you? Here at Michigan State University’s Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostic Graduate Program (BLD Program), we’re providing our students with the skills and expertise that they need to advance their careers in this changing environment. Our faculty’s extensive professional and teaching experience allows us to provide the best educational environment for today’s working laboratory profes- sionals. The BLD Program has been training medical laboratory scientists for over 90 years, and we’ve been teaching online for over a decade. Utilizing the latest technology to con- nect with our online students, we are able to provide the academic content that you need without sacrificing the mentoring and discussion that make graduate education unique. We know that you already have a busy life balancing professional and personal responsibilities, and we provide the flexibility that you need to obtain a master’s degree or to sharpen your skills with advanced coursework while managing the rest of your life. These courses provide a solid preparation for national credentialing examina- tions; however, these courses do not fulfill the requirements for eligibility for certifying exams. nImmunodiagnostics and Clinical Flow Cytometry Lab technologists will be trained to apply immunologic prin- ciples to current clinical practice. Stu- dents design and assess methods in the immunology lab. Flow cytometry is introduced. nAdvanced Flow Cytometry Especially for flow cytometry professionals, this program introduces concepts of ad- vanced flow cytometry assay design and analysis. nClinical Mass Spectrometry For both beginners and experienced technol- ogists. Students learn about mass spec- trometry theory and its use in the clinical lab. n Managing Biomedical Laboratory Oper- ations For working lab professionals who want to advance into leadership roles or update their management skills. n Transfusion Service Management Best practices and common work themes of transfusion management are explored; ranging from theories of coagulation and hemostasis to adverse transfusion outcomes and resource management.

Master’s Degree Programs Designed to expand the skills of lab professionals by presenting new tech- nologies and advanced concepts. A multidisciplinary approach to the lab sciences is emphasized, encouraging innovative thinking.
